DESCRIPTION

Brendan Chase was built in the traditional Lake District style in the 1870s as two separate properties with local stone walls and pitched slate roof. A spacious property with views of the Lakeland fells, it has been steadily refurbished and upgraded retaining the many original Victorian features of its era and combining these with modern appointments. The accommodation for the resident owners is a key feature of this lovely guesthouse, it being particularly spacious and having 2 bedrooms. This is ideal family accommodation and is complimented by off-road parking to the rear. Situated in an ideal trading position, Brendan Chase is close to the railway station and only the shortest of walks into the centre of the village making it ideal as a tourist stopover. It would of course be quite possible to return Brendan Chase to the two original large family homes.

Framed by the glorious woodland and watchful fells, Lake Windermere, England's longest lake is close-by. Its magnetic beauty has drawn William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin and their homes are now among the diverse attractions in the area, which help draw tourists of all ages to this popular destination.

The present owner acquired the house in 2003 and has carried out numerous improvements during his period of ownership. There are new carpets throughout, together with a new fire alarm system and industrial washing machine and dryer. Brendan Chase comprises two terraced houses with separate heating systems which enable one of the houses to be closed during quieter periods. The central heating boilers in both of the houses have recently beenreplaced. It should be noted that the owner, who has now reached retirement age, has lived alone for the majority of his tenure at Brendan Chase and as such has not been inclined or able to fully promote and market the business. It is apparent that because of the size of the business, which can accommodate over 30 guests, the potential for a future owner is obvious. It is clear that the house is well known and highly regarded in the lucrative south-east Asian area and is extremely popular with overseas students and families.
