Located within the Bridgeton area approximately 1 mile to the south east of Glasgow City Centre and on the eastern side of Greenhead Street close to the junction with McPhail Street. Originally dating from c. 1840 and comprising a fire damaged Grade B listed former tenement and former hotel, substantially fire damaged in June 2014. It exists as a semi-derelict 4-storey tenement with adjoining single storey ashlar stone façade retention with rear cleared and overgrown site. The existing and former building is/was arranged over basement, ground, first second and third floors with converted attic space. Part of the building was substantially fire damaged in June 2014 and the upper floors subsequently demolished.

We note from the Glasgow City Council planning portal that Planning consent was previously granted via applications referenced 12/800530/DC and 12/00531/DC for the demolition of the existing hotel and erection of a 6 storey hotel (112 bed spaces) with part front façade retention. The consent was subject to implementation within 3 years from 26 July 2012 which has now lapsed. The new scheme had a total GIA of 4,400.9 sq. m. (47,371 sq. ft.). We recommend that interested parties contact the Council Planning Service regarding any planning matters.
